Ok not really. I just felt bad for not posting anything for a really long time. I will get pictures up here eventually. By the time I do though you won't even recognize my children. Haha. Anyway, Christmas was fun and we had a lot of stuff going on as well as a lot of family we got to see. We missed Linsey and Kelsey and thier families though this holiday season. It always seems weird when we aren't all there. The new year brought in Amanda cutting her own hair so it is now very short...I will include those pictures...as well as her tumbling recital that she did yesterday. She did really well and even landed her cartwheel. I was very proud. The twins are doing well. Eva's heart appointment turned out good, they said they can't hear anything from her PDA when she was born so they aren't going to worry about it unless my doctor hears something in the future that he's worried about. Eva can walk, Emma can crawl, and Amanda can do cartwheels and handstands in the living room. We are still looking for a full time postition for Cameron and I am going to start teaching piano lessons. That's about the end of the updating of our family. Thank you everyone who reads and checks on my blog even though I'm horrible at keeping it updated. Goal for the Week: Post pictures up on here by Sunday!!! Wish me luck. :)

Cameron and I have decided to make a blog for his made up recipes that we like. He is really good at throwing something together and what's better is he likes to do that. The problem I have is that when it tastes amazing and I want it again, he can't remember what was in it. So we are going to put his recipes on here that we like. Hopefully we will get a new one once a week...that's our goal. So for starters there is only one on there, but more to follow. Summer Fun

So here is the first part of our summer fun...which actually took place at the end of the summer. This is from mid July through now. I am having a hard time getting all my pictures to download so this is what you get for now. :)

SCARY!

Ok...no pictures this time, but hopefully again soon. This is a story about Amanda and how she scared me into tears. I had put her down for bed and Cameron and I were in the kitchen. He was making food to freeze for Priest Lake and I was on the computer. Amanda had been awake for awhile cause we could occasionally still hear her talking to herself. Well, a little later she lets out a cry. So I get up to go check on her. When I get in there, she is standing on her bed with the blind cords wrapped around her neck. She is panicking. I run over and they are really tight. So I try to pull them apart and I finally get them to slide over her head. We have talked with her about putting things around her neck cause she likes to pretend they are necklaces. So Cameron had tied the strings all together and somehow she had untied them enough to get her head through but it was too tight and was choking her. After I got her out I held her and started crying. She had a huge red line going across her neck and she said that that was scary cause she couldn't breathe. When I told her she could have died her response was..."That's ok, Jesus can bring me back to life." Needless to say, I had to talk to her without ruining her testimony of the Ressurrection and explain that she will come back to life but not for a long time, that she would have to wait til Jesus came back to Earth again. She seemed to understand a little bit more, so now we are keeping the blinds out of reach and Cameron will be taking them down all together here very soon. Not a fun moment, but I'm glad she is alright.

BUSY TIMES

So Amanda spilled some popcorn on the floor today and when we went to pick it up she says, "Goodbye Popcorn...I will never see you again." Then she keeps saying it until she burst into song singing it. Let's just say sometimes I feel like I live in a musical. Anyway, we have stayed really busy this last week. On Thursday, Cameron and I went to Playmill with mom and dad, and Morgan and Norman. Then on Friday we went to Idaho Falls and hung out there during the day while Cameron interviewed. We went to the Green Belt and then the park. Then on Saturday we went to the Family Fun Day at Ross Park. Some of the characters of Star Wars were there. Amanda was so excited. Tonight we are going to the circus. There will be pictures of that to follow. :)

We needed a picture of the newer version of the Storm Trooper. This one is the newer model. :)

We were getting ready to go home and Amanda saw the Storm Trooper with red on him and ran up to him to have him sign her papers and get a picture with him.

This literally was the highlight of her day. She got to meet Darth Vader and she loved the "lady with no hair" That's what she calls her. So Darth Mal has Eva, Darth Vader, Amanda, Ventress, and the Jedi has Emma.

They had bouncy toys and Amanda did the obstacle course. This is her climbing the side to go down the slide at the top. She actually climbed it faster and better than most of the older kids there. :)

Eva was crying and so Emma reached over and held her hand. It was really cute. So after I took a picture...then I picked her up to change her pants and make her feel better. Sometimes they have to sacrifice for a picture. :)

So it has been brought to my attention that I haven't updated my blog. And I've decided that when you have 3 different people tell you within a few days of each other to do so...it's time I get on it. It's not like I have anything better to do. :) So here is the update with mainly pictures. We are loving our new ward, Amanda just got a new bike, Emma and Eva both have 2 teeth and can roll over whenever they want, I try to stay sane, and Cameron is still looking for a full time job with benefits. There you have it...now enjoy the photos. :)

She stood on the fire truck and the fireman there pulled out the hose for her to hold. I like it. :)

This is Amanda actually shooting the water out of the hose. They had a target and were letting people try and shoot it...it had a cartoon flame that you were suppose to put out. Amanda loved this...but she loves anything involving water. :)

This is one of the firefighters that responded to the call when Emma was born in the bathroom. His partner was the one who rushed Emma to the hospital and he stayed and took me in the ambulance. So this is Emma with one of the people that helped save her life. He was really surprised that she was as big as she was...let alone alive. :)

This Amanda riding her new bike. She was so excited to get it. Now if we can get her to peddle forward instead of pushing the brakes backward we will be set. But I guess you have to learn somewhere.

How Time Flies

Not a lot has happened but I have come to the conclusion that time flies. My babies who were really tiny are now huge. They are both over 10 pounds and Emma has cut her two bottom teeth. Eva is cutting her bottom teeth right now and it's only the beginning for the two of them. Amanda frequently tells me that she isn't my little girl anymore...I'm a big girl...but I'm still holding on that I can keep them my little sweeties forever. What do you do. :)

I have recently come to the conclusion that I am not very good at this blogging thing, even when I have the internet at my house. But I have decided that in between feeding, changing and dressing the babies, and keeping Amanda entertained in this retched cold weather...I'm going to try and update this with pictures, stories and lastest family news. So here goes: We have recently moved to a new apartment (a duplex) that has enough space for all of us to have just that...space. The twins are now 6 1/2 months old and are doing all sorts of fun things like rolling over, giggling, making spit bubbles, and sleeping through the night. :) Amanda is as funny as ever. Here are some of the things she has done. We are sitting on the couch and she comes and sits on my lap and says, "Mom, you need to let me grow up. I'm not a little girl any more...you just have to let me." I wanted to cry and laugh at the same time. She has recently told me again when I tell her she's still my little girl, that I need to let her grow up. I think one of the funniest things she has done in the last little bit though happened the other night. We told her to stay in her room and in bed cause it was time to go to sleep and no she couldn't watch the movie with us. Cam and I were on the couch watching a movie. Little did we know she could see the tv from the end of her bed. The next we know, Amanda is crying cause she fell off the bed and Cam goes in and her head is at the end of the bed on the floor. So as he's putting her back in bed he looks out into the living room and notices that he can see the tv. We start laughing, she had stayed in bed but layed at the end of bed watching the movie with us until she had fallen asleep. Hahaha...wow...what am I going to do with that girl. Anyway, that's about it for now, I'm hoping to have some more news in the next few weeks in regards to a career for Cameron and such. Also, I will take more pictures of the girls and put them up here next time.

So our year in review is this: Cameron graduated from college and we are currently waiting to hear from the army. Katie was pregnant most of the year and had twins in September. Amanda turned 3 and enjoys being a big sister. Emma Jay was born on September 22 in our bathroom at home...delivered by Cameron, named after Grandpa Rhoades, and blessed on December 26th. Eva Ray was born September 22 breach in the operating room, named after my aunt Ray, and blessed on December 26th. It has been a trying year...but we have made it and been very blessed. Here are a few recent pictures.

So our family has been extremely blessed over these last few months. The girls are now home and our whole family is again under one roof. We brought the twins home the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. All the doctors were surprised they had done so well. They didn't expect us to get them before their due date which still hasn't come up. They will be term on December 24th so we brought them home a full month before we thought. :) Since they've been home Amanda has become a great big sister and seems much older than her 3 years. Cameron is back to a regular work schedule and I'm secluded to the house except when Cameron or someone in our family is willing to come sit with the girls. We are truly blessed and we are very grateful for all our family and friends who have kept them in their prayers. They continue to grow and are almost out of premie clothes, and most days are off oxygen. Last Saturday my sister Morgan got married and we took them to get pictures. When I get those I will post them. They, along with Amanda were adorable and Morgan was gorgeous. That's the update. :)

St. Nicholastag...you leave shoes out on December 6th and that night St. Nicholas comes around and gives presents to those who were good. It's a German holiday and since Cameron was born there and lived for several years, we celebrate it every year. Amanda and I love it.

We have been staying in Idaho Falls and one night I put Amanda down for bed. She handed me something to throw away and she said, "It's a red, red, red...purple,purple,purple (repeated about 3 more times)" Then she stopped and said, "I don't know what I'm saying." She then laid down. I turned to Cameron and tried not to laugh. We did laugh though after we left the room. It was pretty funny.

So Blogger isn't letting me upload any more photos at the moment for some reason, but here are the most recent anyway. We have some zoo ones that I will put up later also. We had kind of a set back with Emma. She got an viral infection and wasn't doing well. She had a fever and a hard time breathing so they put her on a ventilator with a tube down her throat to breath for her. She is doing better now. She is currently on a c-pap machine and will hopefully get to join her sister upstairs soon and breathing on her own. Eva is breathing without any help of oxygen and she took a bottle for the first time yesterday. All is well.

They're Here!!

So I don't know how many of you know...but we have had the twins. They are about 2 1/2 months early. Here is the shortened version of their miraculous arrival. On Sept. 22 I woke up and all of the sudden had very painful contractions very close together. We were going to take me to the hospital when I felt something and it turned out to be the head of baby. I yelled for Cameron, he came in the bathroom and saw. Then my water broke and the baby came out. Cameron grabbed her, dried her off, helped her breathe and then layed her on my stomach and covered her up. So pretty much Cameron delivered our baby. About 2 minutes later the paramedics got there, they cut the cord, and ran with the baby to the hospital. Then they took me in the ambulance to the hospital. There they found out baby 2 was breech and we had to do an emergency c-section. In the operating room baby 2 decided she didn't want to wait either and so I delivered her breech. I really wanted to be knocked out...but no such luck. The babies are now in EIRMC at the NICU. They are doing well and progressing well also. We are very grateful they are alive and doing so well. We named the first baby Emma Jay and baby 2- Eva Ray. I will post pictures either later today or this week, so come look at our new additions.

So it's been forever since I've updated...and it will probably continue to take a long time in between posts. The thing is...I'm sick...all the time. Yep, you guessed it...I'm PREGNANT!!! We are really excited about it and the surprise just keeps getting better because we were in the hospital for one of my many visits and found out...I'm having TWINS!!! Now that was a shock. So, I will do my best to post pictures on occasion, but don't give up on me if my posts are few and far between.

So the day has finally arrived...well, almost arrived. But at least I can see the finish line. Cameron is graduating from college. YEAH!!!! He is graduating from I.S.U. on May 8th. The last few semesters have been challenging and required a lot of sacrifice on both of our parts. Him because he studies all the time and me because he studies all the time. :) But all that's about to change. To be honest...I'm not sure what we will do with all of this extra time. Anyway...for those who are waiting for more pictures, I do have some coming from Easter. I'm just a little behind on putting them up. Then I will post pictures of Cams graduation when we get those as well. YEAH!!!!

Funny Story

Here is a funny story. We were in church on Sunday listening to testimonies. Cameron had worked a graveyard the night before so hadn't slept in about 48 hours. He was holding Amanda and had his eyes closed. Amanda looked at him and yelled, "Wake Up! Wake Up!" That made his eyes shoot open.

So after looking back on my blog I noticed that I don't have a lot of pictures where Amanda actually looks good. I just wanted to post that I actually do do my daughters hair. It isn't always a jungle. :) Although with how hard she plays it doesn't stay in very long. Cameron is applying with the Army as an Officer and we will be waiting to see if he gets accepted here soon, if so we will be moving. Our first choices are in Germany so Europe here we come...maybe. He did really well on his ASVAB and was told he could do whatever job he wants in the Army which is a plus. Who knows...I always wanted to see Europe and this is a good way to do it. I will keep you posted. :)

CHRISTMAS NEWSLETTER!

Merry Christmas!! This has been another one of those years. But our family is holding strong, sticking together, and making it through. Here is an update of this year.

Cameron- He is in his last semester at school and then will be graduating. We went to Priest Lake and had a fun time there. Really, there isn't a whole lot to say. He got a new job driving bus for the city, a graveyard shift at Bannock House, and on call at Colonial Funeral Home. On top of his 18 credits, we don't see him much. But good things come to those who wait. :)

Katie- I am still a stay at home mom. I was the assistant varsity volleyball coach for my second year at Pocatello High School. However, I spent the first half of the season coaching the Freshman team cause they didn't have a coach yet. It was a lot of fun, and overall we improved our record from last year. I have a lot of time to read during nap time and bed time, so I take advantage and go at it. I really like the books from David Eddings. I highly recommend, or the Hunger Games Trilogy.

Amanda- She is now 2 and is very active. You can't take your eyes off her in case she gets into something she shouldn't. She enjoys climbing, bookshelves and counters especially. Her favorite color for the moment is Pink...I know...what am I going to do. :) She likes Cheetos, Cereal with milk, Peas, Salad, and Treats. She is still small for her age but to me she is getting really big. She copies things we do and say which means we have to be more careful in those areas.

Overall, our family is doing well, looking forward to this upcoming year with new adventures and new experiences. Thanks for being part of our Family.

NEW MOON

So it wasn't a let down! It was really good. I thought the acting has even improved from the last one. My birthday was a lot of fun. I went to the temple and did initiatories, then went to Johnny Carinos for dinner. We ran into my cousin Troy and his wife Trudi there. We chatted for a bit and I found out that Troy's birthday is on the 9th so I will remember that from now on. After we were almost done with our meal our waitress came up and brought us a piece of cheesecake and said it was complements from the table we were talking to earlier and Happy Birthday! I was excited for the cheesecake, and then she continued and said that our bill was also taken care of. :) I was in shock a little. I didn't know what to say. That has never happened to me before. And they had already left so I couldn't even thank them. So I'm doing that now. THANK YOU!!! I don't think they know how much that meant to us. Especially during this time in Cameron and I's life. After dinner we went to the movie and it was amazing. And yes...Cameron did go with me and yes...he did like it. So the day went well. The next day we went to Utah for my cousin Alex's wedding. It was very nice and good to see all of them again.

New Moon Premier!

Ok...So I am going to the New Moon Premier on Thursday night, at midnight, and I'm really excited. However, I'm not the die hard fan that I'm sure everyone else there is. I'm going because all my sisters are going, it's my birthday, and my mom was paying for my ticket, so really...why not. Besides, I have to admit that this one looks a lot better than Twilight. And it rightfully should considering that they had a lot bigger budget on this one than the first. But it should be good and I look forward to seeing it. THE LATEST!!

A lot has happened since the Priest Lake Vacation. Cameron and I had our 3rd Anniversary. We went to Salt Lake, stayed at the Pavillion Inn and then went to a session in the Salt Lake Temple. It was really awesome. I started coaching another year of volleyball as the Assistant Varsity. However the first half of the season I was coaching the Freshman cause we didn't have a coach. But the second half we got one so I went to help Varsity. Cameron is in his last semester of school, we hope. He is taking about 18 credits and working around 35 hours total at all his jobs. We don't see him much. Amanda had a birthday and we threw a party for her at the Homer's house. I put some pictures up. It was a lot of fun. She turned 2 and I was a little sad cause she isn't my little baby anymore. She doesn't look it or act it so I was sad but it was still fun.

PRIEST LAKE

Priest Lake was a lot of fun this year. Amanda got in the water more and she really liked the boat and sand. Here are some of the pictures but I will probably post more of them later.

I'm really excited because last week from Wednesday to Saturday my Mom and Dad, Kelsey, Morgan and I left Pocatello and drove to Omaha, Nebraska. We went and saw the Broadway Show WICKED. It was so good. I loved the music before, but now there's nothing that compares really. I left Cameron and Amanda together for the 4 days, and they learned a lot about each other :) I think it was good for everyone. We also saw my Grandma and Grandpa Rhoades while we were there. We stayed the night at their home. It was so much fun and I recommend everyone go and see that show at least once...if not more. I vowed to go again and take Cameron with me this time.

India Wedding

I'm finally getting around to updating my blog. It's been awhile but I have some cool pictures of Amanda and a wedding. Cameron and I have some neighbors in our apartment building that are from India. They aren't members and we just became their friends. They started taking missionary discussions, although nothing came from it. However, they decided to get married. They asked Cameron and I if we would be the Maid-of-Honor and Bestman. Amanda was the flower girl. It was a lot of fun and they are great people. They are going back to India soon and we hope to still stay in touch.

Because I was in the wedding, I got henna done on my hands. It's an Indian tradition for the women involved in the wedding. It was really fun and it stayed on for about a week.

She was in bed...again...and we hear these knocks on the wall. We go peek in and she is standing up trying to tell us that she wants out. Sorry it's been awhile since I've updated. I even have some really cute pictures I need to put on here. But I don't have my camera right now so it will have to wait. However, I do have a funny story. If you ever hear wierd noises coming from your kids bedroom...don't panic. Cameron and i had just put Amanda down for a nap and all of a sudden we hear noises and think she has gotten her foot caught in between the bars of the crib. When Cameron went to investigate he found that she was perfectly fine...she was just singing along with the blues. We put music on for her and she was wailing away with the rythmn. It was really funny. So now we don't worry as much...I just hope her singing will improve when she gets older and it won't continue to sound like she's in pain. :)

So I finally did it. I called Terri Oborn and asked if she could cut my hair and she asked me when and we did it that day. First I picked a picture from the internet, asked Cameron which one he liked best and then took it with me. I got before and after pictures taken. It was really hard for me to take this step because I haven't cut my hair short in over 8 years. It takes a long time for my hair to grow back, so this was a big deal. And yes...I did cry the first time I washed the following morning. Cameron comforted me and we laugh about it now, cause it's not that big of a deal. Anyway, Terri did a great job so I recommend her highly. Here are my before and after pictures.

I took these of Amanda a little while ago and thought I'd post them. We made crowns for Family Home Evening that said I am a Child of God. So, she thought wearing it around the house was a lot of fun. Then we had some problems with our water heater and we couldn't fill a whole tub of warm water to give her a bath, so we gave her one in the kitchen sink. She likes to help Cameron cook so he lets her stir occasionally. I also have recently been putting Amanda's hair up in pig tails. They stand straight up, she doesn't have much hair. I think it's cute. I recently did get my hair cut, but I'm waiting for the before and after pictures from Kelsey, so I'll post it when I get them.

A Great Christmas

Christmas was a lot of fun this year. It was the first Christmas that Amanda could open presents. Last year she was only 2 months old. We woke up around 5:00 am and started with what SANTA brought us. Then we opened the rest of our presents from each other. We also got new pajamas on Christmas Eve. We didn't have time to go back to bed because our day was booked. We spent the day over at Cameron's parents house and had some fun with everyone there, then that night we went to my parents house for our Christmas game. We had a lot of fun. I am really into the show Top Chef on Bravo. I'm not really a good cook, but I like to watch the show and see what they come up with, then I can go online and find the receipes that I like and try them out at home. Who knows, I might actually improve. However, some of their receipes are hard, so if any of you have good receipes to share, I would love to get them. I am always looking for new ideas to spice up dinner.

Happy 2009 everyone! I hope you all brought in the New Year with a bang. Cameron, Amanda and I spent it with my family at my mom and dad's house. We spent all night playing games and eatting junk food. I must say that Catch Phrase can be pretty exciting with my family the later it gets. Not to mention some of the things that come out of our mouths unexpectedly. :) Don't worry nothing too bad. I'm really excited for this year and hope it brings lots of fun and new adventures.

Merry Christmas Everyone! I got this idea from Kelsey's blog. I think this is a great way to do Christmas cards, especially last minute. So here is the Homer Family Year in Review.

We have had a rough year but hope that we notice all the blessings it brought. To start off we lost a few members of our family. In June our baby boy was born too early therefore didn't live, and we also lost my Grandma Simpson this last September. We miss them often.

Cameron has finished up a semester at ISU with one more to go. He also works at the Bannock Youth Foundation working with kids who need a place to live for one reason or another. It's rewarding most of the time, but they definetly give him a good way to practice dealing with teenagers in all situations. He still enjoys fishing and we have been able to go a few times this year. He will hopefully graduate in May and we will be on to bigger and better things.

I (Katie) have been kept busy through taking care of Amanda and Cameron and also doing some enjoyable things of my own. I am the Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach at Pocatello High School under my dad and enjoy keeping involved with volleyball. I was on an Intramural Volleyball team at ISU with Dan and Kelsey and we took first place in our division. We were pretty good. I read a lot and am into a lot of new series. I went to the premier of Twilight and absolutely loved it. I look forward to moving onto a new chapter and hope to extend our family soon.

Amanda keeps us all busy and on our toes. She gets into everything and is very curious. She is walking great and has 16 teeth. Her favorite things are Monkey, Bear, and Books. We are really original in the names, but at least we know what she is asking for. She had her year birthday this year with a lot of friends and family that attended. It was fun. She has the cutest little smile and we are so glad to have her in our family.

So to wrap things up, we have had our challenges and will be glad when 2009 comes around, but we have been blessed and hope to live our lives so we will continue to be worthy to recieve more. We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We love you all.

Amanda has had an exciting little while, she got 2 more teeth which brings us up to 16 . The other day she comes walking into my bedroom and gets my attention, I turn around and she has gotten one of my headbands from the bathroom and put it on her head, correctly no less. We just celebrated St. Nicholastag, a german christmas holiday, and Amanda got a new book which she absolutely loves. Books are one of her favorite things. Cameron is almost done with a semester of school and I will be working part time next semester for the intramural department keeping scores mainly. We can't wait for Christmas and spending time with all our family.
